TOWS ANALYSIS

What is it?

The TOWS Matrix (or cross SWOT) is a tool for analyzing and classifying the business environment and for guidance on strategic options.

What is it for?

The TOWS Matrix is useful for both the conception and repositioning of the organization. This tool makes it possible to summarize and classify the environmental factors external (Opportunities and Threats) and internal (Strengths and Weaknesses) to the organization that impact its activities and, based on the intersection of these dimensions (Strength-Opportunity, Strength-Threat, Weakness-Opportunity and Weakness -Threat), identifies the dominant intersections of the dominant dimensions.

As a result, the tool presents a portrait that guides strategic options.

Complexity*: High.
